I’m a 35-year old Monterey, California disc golfer. I started playing while attending California State University Monterey Bay. They have two courses on campus, one designed by Steady Ed and DGA General Manager Scott Keasey! While at CSUMB, I was under the tutelage of disc golf instructor Merle Witvoet and competed in Collegiate Nationals in 2010, as well as a few of the CSUMB-hosted West Coast College Opens. After my Collegiate career ended, I became heavily involved with the local Monterey club, The Monterey Stinging Jellies. I served on the Jellies board of directors in numerous capacities including President from 2013-2015. I’m the past or present tournament director of many events including the Jelly Jam, the Kelp Klassic, Ryan’s Rage, the Eagle Eye Classic and the CSUMB Otter Open.
I play trumpet professionally, and it is not uncommon for me to perform the Star Spangled Banner before a disc golf event.

Strongest part of your game? What needs work?
The strongest part of my game is my putting and/or forehand rollers. My backhand drives need the most work!
Best tip for a new player?
Buy 5-6 of the same putter and get practicing!
