The “unofficial official” start to the 2022 Disc Golf season kicked off this past weekend with the DGPT All Stars event in Tucson, AZ. Catrina Allen showed the world that she is ready to play with an all DGA bag! Cat played great all weekend and her team walked away with the overall win after three days of skills, doubles, and singles play. We’re excited to see her carry this momentum into the Las Vegas Challenge in a few short weeks.
Shasta Criss had an amazing final round comeback at The Wintertime Open which was hosted at Oak Grove, the world famous, “first ever course.” Shasta competed in a stacked MP40 division where he had to birdie the last five holes (including #18 which he had never birdied in the past) to tie for 1st place. He then went on to win the playoff in the very first playoff hole. Way to battle, Shasta!
Ali Smith played the Super Sunday Flex Start Madness in Kansas. This was her first official FPO win and first official cash. Ali said “I had the pleasure to play with a local teammate, Ben Sorensen. I felt confident off the tee all day and never 3-putted!” Be on the lookout for more to come this year in the FPO division from last year’s PDGA FA1 World Champion!
Ben Llena competed in a PDGA triples event called the Frisbee Bowl 22′. After two rounds, he and his team came out in 2nd Place in the Open division. Ben said his Steadys and Hellfires were getting the job done!
