It was another weekend packed full of action for Team DGA. Here on the West Coast, it was time for another PDGA NT event with the Santa Cruz Masters Cup, where DGA had a good showing across multiple divisions. It was great to get to spend some time with some of the Team while being in town so close to DGA HQ!
Matt Bell shook off the lingering injury and got back to prime form where he started and ended the tournament on filmed cards. Matt finished the event in solo 8th place in the MPO division. Be sure to catch the action from Gatekeeper Media and GK Pro, where you can watch Matt dropping in his signature DGA Steadys from all over the course!
Also cashing in the elite MPO field for DGA was Noah Meintsma. Noah played consistently and just over his rating all three rounds, shooting nearly the same score each round to finish in 25th place.
The MP40 finish ended up coming down to the wire, where Shasta Criss eventually took home the 2nd place trophy. De La being where he learned the game and honed his skills, Shasta is consistently at the top of the field at this event. It is a pleasure for anyone who gets to watch him put his course knowledge to work and carve the fairways with his DGA discs!
Last but not least for the Masters Cup, Kristine “KK” King finished in 10th place in the FPO division. KK is also from the Santa Cruz area, and always has a good crowd cheering her on when she comes home to compete at DeLa.
Casey Trudeau had some excitement over the weekend by winning his first B-Tier in the MPO division! Casey took 1st place at the Splinter City Showdown, where he had to make a clutch putt on the very last hole to secure the victory after falling behind during the second round. Congrats on the win!
Ben Llena took home some hardware for a 3rd Place finish in MPO at The Springtime Classic. Ben said his Banzai and Aftershock kept him in the fairway, and his Steady was finding the chains en route to his highest ever 1054-rated round!
Randy Herold rounds out the weekend, cashing with a 4th Place MPO finish at Don’t Poke the Bear. Randy normally competes in the MP40 division, but due to limited field sizes he played up and still took home some money!
