Left the frozen tundra of Southwestern Minnesota today, en route to California for work. Only my discs go everywhere I do, so when I need a break from driving? I happily add to my course collection.
I snuck in three new courses in Nebraska before calling it a night in Kansas. Started the day at State Lakes DGC in Fremont, NE, and met up and played with a nice local (soon to be a local of Charleston, SC) named Jared Rekcirts. Jared was working on course maintenance, including installing some new “B” (long) tees. So I think I got to be one of the first non-locals to play those new tees.
Jared then told me about a second course in Wahoo, NE that none of the course directories knew about. So I played that new course at Lake Wanahoo Recreation Area, then added the course to DGcoursereview.com and UDisc. I then ran through a third round at Branched Oak DGC before calling it a day and driving to my hotel in Kansas, ahead of a nasty storm that is supposed to drop snow and ice across the Upper Midwest tonight and tomorrow.
