Speaking of “puppy dog eyes” and saying “PLEASE” as nice as I possibly can in my previous post? 🙂 After thinking I was done for the evening, playing The Attraction at Moore Park in Klamath Falls? Becky and I needed to check-in to our room and then find a place to grab dinner. Jimmy John’s for the win (and my favorite #6 sandwich, Jimmied Up…if Jimmy Johns is looking for a middle-aged disc golfer to talk them up in exchange for some free/discounted sandwiches…ha)! But while Becky was up, waiting for our sandwich order? I couldn’t resist checking the UDisc app, to see how close the other two courses in Klamath Falls might be to the restaurant. And wouldn’t you know it? Crest Street Park was only a 2-3 minute drive…
I looked at Becky, and she didn’t even need me to ask. We’ve been married nearly 29 years, and for anyone who has been with someone for that long? Just a look or body language can say the equivalent of paragraphs worth of text. So after finishing our delicious sandwiches (c’mon, Jimmy John’s…I’ll sing your praises from the rooftops, talking about how no other sandwich holds a candle to your delicious #6), it was quickly off to Crest Street Park for a “bonus” nine holes before dark.
The course had a lot of safety issues (as you’ll see in the photo of the Hole 1 tee above). Several chances for players to throw into people or over fences (particularly if there is strong wind). Several of the holes were short enough where you could throw it WAY off the ideal flight path (for safety) and still get a good look for deuce. But I remembered a conversation with a few locals at Moore Park a couple hours ago, who didn’t even know this course existed! I can sort of see why, as unless you are course collecting or live in that neighborhood? It probably isn’t a course that folks would want to play on a regular basis.
I wound up shooting a -4 (23) for an estimated round rating of 971. I’d say I shot more in the ~920s or 930s, but whatever. Doesn’t matter! It made for +2 courses on the day, instead of +1. HOORAY!
