DGA Powerdrive Gumbputt Putt & Approach Specs & Info

The Signature Line Powerdrive Gumbputt has a more beveled edge than the Blunt Gumbputt and is designed to fly with a tad more speed. Because of that, this disc is referred to as more of an approach disc than a putter.  This is a great compliment to the Blowfly II as an approach disc and will stick to its landing every time!  It’s super soft and flexible.

  • Extreme Rubbery Grip
  • Sticks to the chain and the ground
  • Great Floating Disc

This disc is a blast!.... But it's uses are limited.

It's just sooo floppy, and a strange mix of understable and low glide.

I recommend for casual players as a first putter. In the meantime, it will not sail toonpar past the basket if you miss, and I'd you hit the chains, pole, basket, top or anything else it is going to stick. Once you start making putts from 25+ ft, it's not going to be cosistant or wind resistant enough.

It's also a decent approach disc for hills because it sticks and does not roll.

But my favorite thing, is to through it full (80%) power a little high with just a touch of annhyzer. It will turn about 90 degrees and keep sailing but loose a lot of altitude. When it hits, it sticks and you don't have to worry about flopping over, coming back, going straight, or rolling. It just turns and slowly falls in an oddly consistent way.

It is not very good for anything else that I've found, but it is fun to play around with.

This is one of the most unusual discs ever made. Super, super rubbery, but it is plastic and not rubber like Vibram. You can fold this disc up and carry it in your pocket, then pull it out and fling it in for a birdie.

When this disc came out DGA said it was the straightest flying disc ever made and claimed you could play catch at 300 feet. Well, my friend and I were able to play catch at 200 feet, but distance beyond that is hard due to glide and wind. If you just ignore how floppy it is and just fling it, it goes dead straight, unless wind gets under it. If wind gets under it, it could do just about anything.

It has more glide than advertised, but hits and sticks at the end of its flight.

For best results, grip it and throw it like a frisbee, not like a golf disc.
